Power Hour=Catalyst for Action

After a county’s Power Hour, the emails and calls increase with all participants. Action team leaders and stakeholders connect with one another to collaborate with an eye on the long-term prize: ensuring ten vital services for surviving and thriving are accessible to 100% of county residents. My role in this first-of-its-kind model for local mobilizing is to get county-based action team members and local leaders what they need to replace barriers to services with access and opportunities. This means data, research, website design, software recommendations, strategic planning, grant proposal development, and connections to change agents, innovators and policy experts across the state. As each county is different, connections between pilot “100%” projects prove invaluable. With nine counties (out of 33) engaged with the 100% New Mexico initiative, there is never a dull moment. Instead, there’s inspiration with every human connection.

What are you streaming in?

If you are not binge watching Power Hour, you sure should be. Switch off Netflix and put on your change agent hat. The real work of creating a far more caring post-pandemic society is local and you have a lot to contribute. The revolution in resilience, compassion and social justice is being streamed in. Don’t miss the next episode.

Mobilize! Survive! Thrive!

Please excuse any typos as I construct an article at 3am on only one cup of joe. These stories are mine and mine alone. I do not represent any organization here. All cartoon characters are pure fiction and any resemblance to real humans, puppies or three-headed hydras is total coincidence. Words and images ©Dominic Cappello but share with everyone you know. Questions? Push to front of reading list: 100% Community: Ensuring 10 vital services for surviving and thriving and Attack of the Three-Headed Hydras: Confronting Apathy, Envy and Fear on the road to saving humans and the future. Better yet, let‘s meet at the EYE bookcafe to share a latte and some bold ideas.
