The time for superheroes is now
EPISODE UPDATE: THE HYDRAS ARE WINNING
Things are not going well in your city. Most of our leaders, the three-headed hydras of Apathy, Envy and Fear, are running society into the ground. For some families, accessing medical and mental health care is near impossible. For parents, jobs or job training are non-existent. Across town, caregiving grandparents struggle to secure food and stable shelter for their grandkids. And then we have public schools without the resources to protect and nurture students, let alone teach them how to learn (not just what to learn). Finally, in one of the most-resourced nations on earth, there are families without water, electricity or wifi (that could connect them to vital information and services).
Our world is not working right.
A culture of greed, disparities and social injustice is the world we live in. It might not be right outside your window but it is a very short drive away. And why is the world this way? Why have we allowed, and voted in, the three-headed hydras decade after decade? Our city and county governments require caring humans, not demented hydras, as local leaders control the budgets that ensure (or deny) the vital services for surviving and thriving.
Grab a cape.
Yes, happy to take questions. One answer. It’s time for you to get a cape and get into the superhero business. And if you need a quick course on what superheroes do, no problem. (Details follow.) What matters most is that you turn your feelings of caring into action. The time for superheroes is now.
